Our Assistant Minister for Youth & Families
In April 2013, FPC called Trey Owens to serve as Assistant Pastor for Youth & Family Ministry. Born and raised in south Louisiana, Trey has a soft place in his heart for Spanish moss, swamps, crawfish, spicy foods, and live jazz (and in fact all kinds of music). He is a graduate of Belhaven University and of Reformed Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Trey came to First Pres via Christ Presbyterian Church of New Braunfels, TX where he served four years as Minister to Youth & Families.
Trey is passionate about seeing a fully-formed faith passed on to the next generation, and he recognizes the need for the entire covenant community to participate in their faith-formation. When he is not in his office or meeting with students, you will probably find Trey playing music or playing any number of games with his family and friends.
Trey met his wife, Hilary, while he was in seminary at RTS. They were married in 2007, and had their first son, Samuel, in 2009.
