Genesis Sermon Series
Article posted on Tuesday, September, 13th, 2011 at 9:57 AMAt first glance, Genesis appears to be a collection of unconnected stories punctuated by extraneous genealogies. But a closer look will reveal that almost every major biblical truth is here in ‘seed’ form: God created everything; the sin of mankind has ruined everything; and now God is the process of redeeming everything through the person and work of Christ until the day comes when all things will be put in order and in their final place. The early chapters of Genesis prepare and direct us toward an obedient and reverent life of following Jesus in our daily, ordinary, working and worshiping lives. They do so by taking us back to the origins of everything.
