Covenant Values Weekend: May 7&8, 2010
Our speaker for this unique event held at First Presbyterian Church Kosciusko was Dr. John Kwasny, Director of Christian Education and Children’s Ministry at Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Before joining the staff at Pear Orchard in 2005, John spent five years as a Biblical Counselor in private practice, followed by ten years as Director of Christian Education and Family Life at Plains Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Zachary, Louisiana. Originally from Chicago, John grew up in Dutch Reformed Christian schools, going on to complete a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Counseling and a Ph.D. in Christian Education.
He is married to Martie, a former Special Education teacher and Biblical Counselor. At the time of this writing (May of 2010), the Kwasnys had seven children (five girls and two boys), ages sixteen and under. John had also just completed writing a complete Sunday School curriculum for Kindergarten – 6th grade, and was working on versions for the home and the school. His passion is for teaching children and adults a Biblical worldview in all areas of life.
